Gameplay Animator Openings (Full-time or Part-time)

Vortex Games is looking for Gameplay Animators to build and maintain exciting and clearly communicated combat animations for our roster of characters. This is a remote position.


  • Work with the rest of the animation team to create new and exciting gameplay animations for Rushdown Revolt.

  • Exercise creative freedom within the art direction to enhance the players’ experience through functional & aesthetic gameplay animation attributes.

Skill Expectations

  • Strong grasp of animation within Autodesk Maya & experience using constraints and other functions to creatively solve new problems.

  • Minimum of 3+ years industry or related experience Basic experience with Unity or another equivalent engine

  • A Bachelor’s degree in fine arts or a relevant curriculum or equivalent skillset.

  • Minimum of 2+ years of experience within Autodesk Maya.

  • Ability to self-regulate in a remote workflow environment & be accountable to the rest of the animation team.

  • Solid communication skills to convey new ideas, problems, or other thoughts to the team.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with Advanced Skeleton & MGPicker (or another equivalent picker program).

  • Experience with fighting games either as a player or a developer.

  • Has shipped a title (indie included) as a gameplay animator.

  • Experience in PC, console, or mobile games.
